Born in 1950, director, screenwriter, cinematographer. Graduated from Cinematography Department at the Film School in Łódź. From 1992 to 1994 co-editor of Film in the World (Film na świecie) magazine. Lecturer at film schools in Berlin, Hannover and Andrzej Wajda’s Master School of Film Directing. Author of many documentaries, including, The Abnormal (Nienormalni), I Had a Friend (Miałem przyjaciela), Born Dead, Rat in the Crown (Szczur w koronie), The Warrior (Wojownik). Laureate of numerous awards at international short film and documentary festivals in Poland and abroad, including Krakow, Łódź, Wrzesnia, Mannheim-Heidelberg, San Sebastian, Oberhausen and Guangzhou. Member of European Film Academy. Before Twilight (Jeszcze nie wieczór) is his feature film debut.
