Based on a true story, A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story is the story of Eddie Araujo, who always felt somehow different. He started putting on his mom’s makeup and wearing her clothes, which his mom found odd. by the time he entered his teens, Eddie could no longer hide the fact that he was very different and that he was meant to be female and not male. When he finally accepted it, and with his mom’s eventual support, Eddie changed his name to Gwen and started to live a life as a female until a tragic night changed everything.
