On the Highest floor on an office building a young man comes out of the window, and stands on the ledge intending to commit suicide. Dr. Kucharski, a renowned psychiatrist refuses to cooperate and suggests that the right person to cope with the problem is Prof. Leszczynski, his former teacher. From this moment the fight for the suicide’s life is a conflict of two different methods of handling the problem. Dr. Kucharski thinks that to achieve the desired result he must act against the patient’s will, while the Professor advocates the opinion that a person, even in the deepest of despairs must be given full freedom to decide on his own fate.
