My Pole is a film about the youngest conqueror of both of Earth’s Poles – Johnny Mela. The boy who witnessed his younger brother’s death and a few years later had his arm amputated as a result of a severe electric shock lived through a total nervous breakdown. A broken family with a toxic father left the boy with no hope for a brighter future. It all changed when the father-son relationship eventually lead to what first seemed impossible: an amazing physical achievement by a disabled person – reaching the Pole.
