August 1968. A unit of the Polish People’s Republic Army is sent on a “brotherly help mission” to Czechoslovakia. The tank unit makes sluggish progress and the tank “Ladybird” goes missing just after crossing the border. Major Grazlowa, accompanied by her jealous husband, gets on a motorbike and conducts a chase in an effort to avoid being punished for the disorder in her unit. At the same time, she wants to catch and humiliate her lover, Romek, who shortly before the invasion turned her down…
