Polish Film Festival North America 2026: New Polish Cinema Across the United States

NOVEMBER 6–22, 2026

This fall, new Polish cinema travels across the United States with Polish Film Festival North America, running from November 6 to 22, 2026.

Lalka – opening film of Polish Film Festival North America 2026

The festival opens on Friday, November 6 at the Pickwick Theatre in Park Ridge, near Chicago, with the U.S. premiere of Lalka, Maciej Kawalski‘s new adaptation of BolesΕ‚aw Prus’s classic novel, known in English as The Doll. The special guest of the evening is Jan Englert, one of Poland’s most celebrated actors, who appears in the film. The opening gala sold out within days, and an additional screening has been added on Saturday, November 7.

Jan Englert will also meet the audience in Chicago after a screening of the documentary Jan Englert. I’ll Try to Fly Again.

The program announced so far also includes Our Revolution, How to Live and Not Go Crazy and A Recipe for Christmas. More titles will be announced soon.
