Professor Robert J. Wierzbicki (b. 1959 in Poland) graduated at Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland, with MSc degree (Dipl.-Ing. Univ) in Electronics, specializing in Device Technology. On completion of his degree he first worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits in Erlangen, Germany, and was later appointed research assistant to the Chair of Electron Devices at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, where he wrote his PhD thesis in 1994. Upon completion of his doctoral thesis Dr. Wierzbicki set up his own company, Media Integration, which developed multimedia applications for the transfer of knowledge and technology. Since 2001 he has been the director of his own company, WIERZBICKI.ORG, which focuses on developing solutions in the areas of multimedia, design, digital art, knowledge transfer and eLearning for customers in Europe and in the USA. In 2003 Dr. Wierzbicki was appointed professor of Online Media at the University of Applied Sciences in Mittweida, Germany. 2014 he was recipient of the Polish Film Festival Friend Award.
Professor Wierzbicki is expert in digital media, author of numerous publications and winner of prestigious awards in communication media. He is among other evaluator in accreditation of educational programs and specialist in international standards and procedures. His current research focuses on interactive storytelling, educational networks, neurosciences, ambient media and communication theories.
