Bio

Slawomir Idziak was born in 1945 in Katowice. He is a cinematographer and director, known for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007), Black Hawk Down (2001) and Gattaca (1997).

For Black Hawk Down by Ridley Scott, he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Cinematography. In 1993 he won the Golden Osella at the Venice Film Festival for Three Colors – Blue (Niebieski) by Krzysztof Kieslowski. With Krzysztof Kieslowski he worked on The Double Life of Veronique (Podwójne życie Weroniki), A Short Film about Killing (Krótki film o zabijaniu) and Decalog Five: Thou Shall Not Kill (Dekalog, pięc. Nie zabijaj).
