People who want to become artists are those who have some special kind of hypersensitivity, people who do not fit in themselves, says the director in a documentary about one of the most highly regarded theatre schools in Poland, the National Academy of Theatre Arts in Krakow. The camera accompanies the school’s freshmen while they “train” to become actors. It is a live story about a modern school, the hopes and doubts of young people entering the profession, interspersed with memories of the school’s prominent alumni and personalities.
