Bio

Muriel Naim (born 1991 in Tel Aviv) is an Israeli award-winning director/writer, emerging from Tel-Aviv’s art & theater scene. Mentored under Israeli-Lithuanian Theater director Arthur Kogan and Iranian Oscar-winning filmmaker Asghar Farhadi, Muriel opened CalArts 2016 Film Directors showcase at REDCAT theater in Los Angeles. Her films CASPER & JAVIER were recently distributed to several international companies. Muriel recently graduated from the American Film Institute’s Film Directing Program, where she received the Irwin & Sheila Allen Scholarship for excellence. Janek/Bastard – her most recent, brought her the Best Directing Award in the International Bali Film Festival. Muriel’s films delve into the cores of the human condition, explore taboos, emotion and transgression through visceral storytelling and provoke the classical narrative structure.
