Robert Wieckiewicz

Bio

Robert Wieckiewicz (1967), a Polish theatre and film actor, a graduate of State Drama College (Państwowa Wyższa Szkola Teatralna) in Wroclaw, (1993). He has appeared on the stages of Teatr Polski in Poznan, “Rozmaitosci” Theatre in Warsaw, the National Theatre, “Montownia” Theatre, and Laboratorium Dramatu (Drama Laboratory).

For his role of Cuma in Machulski’s Vinci Wieckiewicz received Special Jury’s Mention for Outstanding Ensemble Acting at Courmayeur Noir In Festival (Italy) in 2004. For his role of Andrzej, an alcoholic P.E. teacher in Tomasz Wiszniewski‘s All Will Be Well (Wszystko będzie dobrze) (2007) Wieckiewicz was awarded several prestigious awards, including the Best Actor Award at Festiwal Polskich Filmów in Gdynia in 2007, and “Orzeł” (The Eagle), Polish Film Academy Award for the year 2007 as well as the Best Actor Award “Silver Dolphin” at Festroia International Film Festiwal 2008 in Setubal, Portugal. Polish Eagle (Orzeł) Award 2011 – Best Leading Actor for his role in Little Rose and 2012 Polish Eagle (Orły) Award and 2012 Gdynia Film Festival- Best Leading Actor for his role in In Darkness by Agnieszka Holland.
At the 2013 Chicago International Film Festival awarded Silver Hugo for Best Actor for his role as Lech Walesa.
